Pre & Post Microdermabrasion Treatment
Pre Treatment:
On the day of your appointment:

If applicable, shave the area to be treated.

Gently wash the area to be treated, removing makeup, lotion, etc.

Do not apply any creams, lotions, or other products to the area.

Arrive a few minutes early.

Avoid the following for five (5) days prior to Microdermabrasion:

Sun tanning, tanning creams
-
Botox injections
-
Filler injections
-
Retin-A, Renova, and all products containing hydroxy or glycolic acid products

Post Treatment:

Cold compress [not ice] and recommended skin care products may be useful to reduce swelling or discomfort. You may use over-the-counter pain/anti-inflammatory medication. Hydrocortisone cream may decrease any itching or irritation. Antibiotic ointment may be used if skin is broken, to prevent infection.

Superficial scratches from microdermabrasion is possible, and should not be alarmed, it will go away.

Do not pick or peel off the skin.

Aerobic exercise or vigorous physical activity should be avoided until all redness has subsided.

Direct sunlight exposure is to be completely avoided immediately following the treatment (including any strong UV light exposure and tanning beds). If some sun exposure cannot be avoided, first apply sunscreen with an SPF of 30 or greater.

Skin will be senstivie for 2-3 days. Use a gentle cleanser, and do not rub skin vigorously.

Avoid the use of glycolic acid type products or other harsh chemicals on the treated skin until sensitvity has subsided.

After your treatment, sunblock must be worn at all times and tanning beds should never be used.
