BRAZILIAN WAXING FAQ's

CAN MEN GET THEIR BRAZILIAN DONE?

  • Unfortunately we do not offer any underwear area waxing for men, this includes; Brazilian, Frontal Bikini, Bikini Line, Full Butt, & Butt Strip Waxing.

WHAT IS THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN A BRAZILIAN, FRONTAL BIKINI & BIKINI LINE?

  • Brazilian Wax: as much or as little hair removed from the front, including the butt strip.

  • Frontal Bikini Wax: as much or as little hair removed from the front, no butt strip.

  • Bikini Line Wax: hairs around your underwear line.

Be very specific with your waxer as to what you want before you start your service.

DOES IT HURT?

  • Of course hair ripping isn’t going to be the most pleasantly comfortable experience. However, in the hands of an experienced esthetician the process is only minorly painful. Your waxer, Nichole, has been doing full body waxing, specializing in Brazilians, for over 5 years, so you're in good hands. Whatever you have heard about the pain factor involved in Brazilian waxing, forget about it! It’s really not that bad. Remember, we are not here to force you to do anything you don’t want to do.

CAN I GET WAXED ON MY PERIOD?

  • You may not want to wax 4 days before or after your menstrual cycle as you will find it slightly more painful. On those days, we recommend taking a pain reliever twenty minutes before your appointment. Brazilians can also be more uncomfortable if you are extremely tired or sick. It’s still fine to get a wax on these days but it may be a little less comfortable for you.

  • If you do decide to wax during your menstrual cycle, please arrive to your appointment clean with a new tampon or cup. *Tip: cutting half of the tampon string helps during the wax process.

CAN I USE NUMBING CREAM BEFORE I WAX?

  • They do not work and can cause more harm than good. Please avoid numbing creams or sprays.

WILL I BE UNCOMFORTABLE AFTER MY WAX?

  • First time brazilian clients will probably be slightly uncomfortable. The coarser your hair and the more sensitive your skin, the more sensitivity you will feel during and after the wax. Some are uncomfortable for an hour or so and others feel a little sore for a day or two.

  • Additionally, it is important not to wear tight jeans or pants and avoid any activity that involves friction.

  • Once you start waxing regularly, it will become easier and won’t feel any discomfort once the wax is finished. Plus, we always apply bush balm pubic oil to treat your skin after a wax to ensure rapid relief.

HOW LONG DOES MY HAIR NEED TO BE FOR A BRAZILIAN WAX?

  • Length of hair should be a quarter of an inch long, or the size of a grain of rice.

  • NO SHAVING WITHIN 14 DAYS OF YOUR APPOINTMENT! Your hair will be too short and the wax will not be able to grab and remove you hair.

  • If you have never waxed before and have a big event coming up, such as your wedding, or a vacation, it is not recommend getting your very first wax a couple of days before you go. Plan ahead and try to get in at least 2 waxes before you go. This way, the first wax, which is the most uncomfortable, is out of the way. After your second wax, you'll have better results and you won’t be too sensitive or uncomfortable for your special event.

HOW LONG WILL THE RESULTS OF MY BRAZILIAN WAX LAST?

  • It all depends. Most clients return after 3-4 weeks.

  • The first wax removes most of the hair that has grown above the skin. Because hairs grow in different cycles, your following waxes will remove the hairs that were still growing below the skin’s surface but have now sprouted above the skin. After a few waxes, all of your hairs should be growing in the same cycle, resulting in longer lasting smooth skin.

CAN I GET A BRAZILIAN WAX IF I AM PREGNANT?

  • Yes. However, please make sure it's okay with your doctor. Being pregnant will leave you more sensitive during and after your wax.

WHAT KIND OF WAX DO YOU USE AND IS IT SANITARY?

  • We use Hard Wax. It's suitable for all skin types. Highly effective with an easy, sticky free application. Wax grips the hair firmly to make the removal of the hair easier with extracting hair at the root to delay further hair growth.

  • Our wax products and procedures are entirely sanitary.

WHEN CAN’T I WAX?

  • If you're using any Retinol products i.e. Retin A, Renova etc. on the area to be waxed.

  • Using Accutane.

  • Have a sunburn, laser burn, pustules or breakouts on the area to be waxed.

  • You are diabetic. We will accept a doctor's note with permission.

  • If your private parts are not clean, we will not consider it sanitary and based on the situation it is at our discretion whether to continue the service or request you go to the restroom with a wet wipe.

CAN I GO TANNING BEFORE OR AFTER A WAX?

  • It is not recommended. Spray tanning before a wax will be a waste since we'll remove all that glow and after the wax your pores will be open and more susceptible to irritation. No sun tanning, waxing is an exfoliation and you will be sensitive.

MEDICAL CONDITIONS?

  • We ask that you discreetly disclose any and all medical conditions you have before we wax you, especially any STD's.

Please freshen up before your appointment. Although we always prep the skin before waxing, we cannot apply wax to skin with any debris on it.
